Class Description & Levels

-DANCE descriptions:

*Chassés* (Ages 2-6)
Young children’s class which incorporates Pre-Ballet, and basic rhythm Tap. development of basic steps, vocabulary and movement, while maintaining a fun and positive atmosphere.  Emphasis is put on cooperation, participation and encouragement.

 jeté* (ages 5-9)
Children’s class which incorporates Ballet, Tap and Jazz. Class includes a breakdown of the basic dance steps with an emphasis on proper technique. Careful attention is given to positive encouragement while working on technical corrections.

*Relevé ages 9-14) / Attitude* (Ages 13+)

-Lyrical
This style has its primary basis in ballet, combining the many technical elements of classical ballet with the freedom and airier aspects of jazz, contemporary and modern dance
-Hip-hop
This class encourages dancers to improve flexibility, develop body balance, and to coordinate their muscles. Some of the Hip-Hop styles include breaking, popping, locking, and free styling. Each individual teach will have a fun and unique style.
-Ballet
This Classes focus on overall body alignment and awareness with emphasis on proper execution of turnout. Posture and usage of upper torso and arms are also stressed. Traditional barre work, center work, and combinations are included in all classes.
It is the foundation technique for all classes.
-Jazz
Class explores body isolation of the Body (head, hips, ribcage and arms). Encouraging individual expression and development of personal style. This class will teach Jazz technique, terminology, and movement to contemporary music.
-Tap
Classes emphasize the development and strengthening of basic tap technique and terminology highlighting the importance of rhythm and sound. Movements of tap are concentrated in your feet and ankles. Wearing shoes with metal taps; you tap to the rhythm of the musical piece. Arms, head and hands are complementary to the actions of the feet.

    i would like info on tap for adults. I studied modern dance for 12 years and do zumba now.

      Hi Ellen,
